Hillarys typeface-important to research

For her 2016 political campaign Hillary Clinton has commissioned her own unique typeface called Unity, this being similar to Obama’s 2012 campaign  in which he commissioned a customised Gotham typeface with serifs.

Unity is based on Sharp Sans, with alterations being made to more aggressive letters in order to promote a more friendlier outlook. For Unity, the dots on the i & j have been turned in circles instead of the original squares and the terminals on the r & t extended to make the letters more rounded. In turn creating a typeface in which appears approachable, yet strong.

The blue type expresses the new typeface compared to that of the original.

To coincide with Hillarys iconic 'H' logo the typeface Hillvetica has also been developed by her supporters. This is depicted below.

During the creation of my own political posters I will look at a way in which her pre-existing campaign iconography may be used in order to embed Hillary further within my posters.
