Lecture-Modernist design theory


Modernism is a philosophical movement that, along with cultural trends and changes, arose from wide-scale and far-reaching transformations in Western society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. 
Antihistoricism-any aesthetic that rejects historicism (the theory that social and cultural phenomena are determined by history.)

Form follows function-The principle is that the shape of a building or object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose.
